Simpawtico's policy for re-homing a pet

If you are NOT under contract for Simpawtico services, we request a $100 donation for re-homing a pet.

We highly recommend setting up a trust to fund food, vet care and any other expenses the pet may have in the future. This will make an older animal much more adoptable, though we do not share exact details of a pet trust with prospective new homes.

Why we charge for this service

Simpawtico is a non profit organization – existing via the kindness of volunteers and a very small staff of one. In order to try to help as many people as possible we must charge for our services in order to care for animals and cover our overhead costs.

We spend 6-8 hours in the first couple of days for an initial push on behalf of the pet. We spread the word of an animal to many people via our extensive email list (email takes time to create, design and send). We also contact other local rescue groups, post online to as many rescue sites as possible, and at some point, take the animal to adoption days to introduce it to prospective new homes.

We feel that this valuable service is something that people should be happy to pay for, especially if it saves the life of an animal. Of course success cannot be guaranteed, especially if there is little time involved, but the cost is a drop in the ocean.

Disclaimer: Simpawtico cannot accept liability or responsibility for animals networked via our email or other resources. We act only as an intermediary.
